The West subseries, 1891, 1912-1928 and undated, bulk 1912-1913, includes images of Hauberg's business trips to Washington (for a Weyerhaeuser Company board meeting) and Idaho, and his personal trips to California and Colorado, where he climbed Longs Peak and Pike's Peak.

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series:

The East subseries, 1913, 1923 and undated, consists of images of New York City (from where Hauberg and his wife sailed on some of their missionary work), Washington DC, and Erie, Pennsylvania.

Scope and Contents From the Series:

The Black Hawk Hiking Club series, 1920-1939 and undated, consists of images of various hike activities, such as cooking over a campfire and making camp, and images of various locations from local and Big Hikes. Most notable are an image of the club's very first hike and its Big Hikes to the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Colorado and Mexico. Also included are several images depicting lyrics to the club's songs.

The Hauberg Home subseries, 1911-1928 and undated, contains images of the interior and exterior of the Haubergs' home, gardens, and greenhouse. Also included are images of the Hauberg Woods and the House in the Woods.

The John Hauberg subseries, 1889-1929 and undated, contains images of Hauberg and his nuclear family, including his parents (Marx Detlev Hauberg and Anna Margaret Frels Hauberg), his wife, Susanne (and her companion, referred to only as Tante Mina), and his children, Catherine Denkmann Hauberg and John Henry Hauberg Jr. The children are sometimes pictured with their nurses, Miss Ross and Miss Vogt.

The Rock Island, IL subseries, 1893, 1905-1930 and undated, focuses primarily on the history of Rock Island. Included are reproductions of maps from various time periods, as well as images of significant sites--Black Hawk's village, the Sauk Council Lodge, Native American corn hills and some early settlers' residences. Also included are images of Vandruff's Island and Augustana College, among other locations.
